Take Your Child to the Library Day! – February 8th, All Day Event!

Get ready to celebrate Connecticut’s 14th annual Take Your Child to the Library Day, right here at the Hagaman!

Take Your Child to the Library Day is an international initiative focused on encouraging parents, families, and caregivers to bring their children to their local library, and discover all the amazing benefits it can offer them!

The Hagaman’s celebration of Take Your Child to the Library Day will be held all day on Saturday, February 8th, from 10am to 5pm. We’ll have a variety of events and activities for children and their families to enjoy and participate in during the day, including:

  • An all-day, drop-in bookmark making station,
  • A self-guided scavenger hunt,
  • A morning visit from our favorite canine volunteer Samantha, who loves when children practice their reading skills by sharing a story with her,
  • A delicious afternoon snack-crafting session, where we’ll be making edible teddy bear treats out of chocolate cookies and cupcakes,
  • A fabulous late afternoon musical concert, performed by Grammy nominated singer-songwriter Judy Pancoast- perfect for children and grownups of all ages!

Be sure to stop in, and see what you can discover at your local library!
