Classics Book Club: “On the Road” by Jack Keuroac-Monday, July 27 at 3:00 p.m. (Community room)

Take a short trip down the road and visit Hagaman for a discussion of “On the Road” for our next meeting of Classics Book Club! No RSVP is needed to join our discussion.

“On the Road” is Jack Kerouac‘s seminal 1957 novel, a defining work of the Beat Generation, chronicling the cross-country adventures of narrator Sal Paradise (Kerouac) and his charismatic friend Dean Moriarty (Neal Cassady) as they search for experience, freedom, and meaning through jazz, poetry, and travel.

Written in a spontaneous prose style, the autobiographical novel captures the restless, anti-establishment spirit of post-WWII America, exploring themes of rebellion, self-discovery, and the search for authenticity against a backdrop of jazz, drugs, and a rejection of materialism.
