Book Discussion: “The Masterpiece” by Fiona Davis-Monday, October 20 at 3:00 p.m. (Shoreline Trolley Museum-17 River Street)

The Contemporary Book Club will read and discuss The Masterpiece by Fiona Davis. The Masterpiece is a historical fiction novel set in two timelines within Grand Central Terminal, New York City: 1928, following Clara, Darden, a talented illustrator teaching at the Grand Central School of Art and striving for recognition in a male-dominated art world; and 1974, where Virginia Clay, a struggling divorcee, works in Grand Central’s information booth and stumbles upon the abandoned art school, uncovering the mystery of Clara’s disappearance and ultimately fighting to save the iconic building from demolition.

Join Hagaman Library’s Contemporary Book Club, which meets every other month on the third Monday at 3:00 p.m. The group is facilitated by Cynthia Gwiazda, Community Services Librarian. All are welcome to join! To join the discussion, contact Cynthia at: cgwiazda@hagamanlibrary.org.
