Science Fiction Book Club: “Flowers for Alergnon” by Daniel Keyes- Tuesday, July 1 at 6:00 p.m. (Zoom)

Join us for Hagaman Memorial Library’s Science Fiction Book Club for a discussion of Flowers for Alergnon by Daniel Keyes.

Algernon is a laboratory mouse who has undergone surgery to increase his intelligence. The story is told by a series of progress reports written by Charlie Gordon, the first human subject for the surgery, and it touches on ethical and moral themes such as the treatment of the mentally disabled. It was adapted into the Academy Award-winning film, Charly starring Cliff Robertson.
