Philosophy Club: “The Wealth of Nations” by Adam Smith- Monday, April 20th at 3pm on Zoom
Bring an open mind and join us on Monday, April 20th at 3pm on Zoom for an America250-themed discussion of The Wealth of Nations by Adam Smith.
The Wealth of Nations, by Adam Smith, is a foundational text of classic economics, first published in 1776, that explains how nations become wealthy through productivity, division of labor and free markets, introducing concepts like the “invisible hand” where individual self-interest benefits society as a whole. It argues that a nation’s wealth comes from its labor, not just gold, and remains a cornerstone of modern capitalism and economic policy.
