Bonus America250 Meeting of Cookbook Club: Favorite Recipes of George Washington-Saturday, June 6 -2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. (DeMayo room)

Chefs, what’s more American than BBQ? The President General Washington himself! You’re also invited to a special America250-themed Cookbook Club, where chefs are invited to prepare and share sample-size dishes of President Washington’s favorite foods! No RSVP is needed to attend; don’t feel like cooking? That’s OK, too: Stop by to learn something new about Washington, and pick up some tips and tricks for when you do feel like cooking!

Sure enough, his favorite food actually WAS pancakes! His preference for soft, plain foods is often attributed to his lifelong issues with his teeth. Other favorites include ice cream & cherry pie, fish & mutton, steak & kidney bean pie, and hazelnuts for a quick snack!
No RSVP required. Drop-ins welcome! For more information, please contact our Reference Librarian, Chris Hemingway at: 203-468-3890 Extension: 110 or via email at: chemingway@hagamanlibrary.org.
