Addiction: A Family & Community Challenge: Presented by Family Recovery Support Specialist Karen Bernetti-Saturday, March 1 from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. (DeMayo room)

Hagaman Memorial Library invites you to a transformative event that will challenge your perceptions and ignite compassion.
Join us for a powerful presentation on Family Recovery and addiction awareness that promises to shake the foundations of how addiction is seen and dealt with in our society.
Addiction doesn’t discriminate. It tears families apart. It ravages communities. And it thrives in the shadows of stigma and misunderstanding. This isn’t a problem about “those people” – it’s our entire community’s problem, and it’s time to face some hard facts head-on.
During the 60 minute presentation, a certified Family Recovery Support Specialist and trauma-sensitive yoga and meditation instructor will:
● Unveil the true face of addiction and its far-reaching impact
● Shatter the myths that fuel stigma and prevent people from seeking the help they need
● Empower you with compassionate, evidence-based approaches for supporting those who struggle with addiction
● Share a few mindfulness techniques for finding calm in the chaos of a loved one’s addiction
● Equip you with practical tools to make a real difference in your community
Participants will leave with an abundance of resources for families affected by addiction and ready to take action. There will be 30 minutes to answer questions and share experiences.
This isn’t just a presentation –it’s a call to action for every member of our community to become part of the solution.
